The table below
lists current rates for Centers, Group/Licensed, Family/Registered and
Informal child care providers that are "contracted" programs.
Providers may not charge subsidized parents more than they charge
private-pay parents. In other words, DSS will reimburse at your private-pay rate up to the market rate.
"Non-contracted"
providers can charge up to the State market rates, which is
in some cases higher than the County contracted market rate.
Non-contracted providers cannot bill for absences, only contracted providers are reimbursed for
absences.
These
are the new Onondaga County full time care Market rates effective as of
May 1, 2008:

Care Services Unit (DCS) |
The
Day Care Services Unit includes: (1) Transitional Child Care (TCC) -
(2) Low Income Day Care - (3) Teenage Parent and (4)
Temporary Incapacity |
| Employment
for Self Sufficiency Unit (ESS) / Transitional Opportunities
Program (TOP) |
Families
who are working & receiving Temporary Assistance because their
income is not sufficient to close their Temporary Assistance cases are
located in the ESS / TOP Unit. Employment must be maintained to
receive child care assistance. |
| JOBS
Plus! |
Is
Onondaga County's welfare employment program. That agency is a
partnership program with Onondaga Community College & the Onondaga
Cty Dept. of Social Services. Families receiving or who have
applied for Family Assistance, and determined to be employable, must
participate in the JOBS Plus! program. |
| Protective
/ Preventive (P/P) |
These
cases involve families serviced by the Dept. of Social Services Child
Protective or Preventive programs, whose children are not in foster
care and where the child care is part of their "approved child
welfare plan". Children receiving preventive child care
must use a contracted provider. |
| Foster
Care Day Care |
Child
care for children who have been placed in foster homes will be paid up
to the market rate currently in effect. The provider will be
paid, in most cases, by the County. Authorization must come from
Children's Division. |
