US Department of Agriculture FNS Online (CACFP Section)

The CACFP portion of the USDA-FNS Web site includes general information about CACFP, a list of state agencies administering the program, frequently asked questions, basic program information (reimbursement rates, income eligibility guidelines, and meal pattern requirements), program history, studies, and program data (participation, meals served and costs).

Child Care Resource System

Rated "among the best" by Tufts Nutrition Navigator, this site focuses on the information needs of CACFP participants.  The Child Care Resource System is a part of the Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) of the National Agricultural Library.  Included are links to resources, recipes, CACFP information, food safety information, and additional links.  The home page is updated monthly.

Cooperative Extension System's National Network for Child Care

NNCC provides access to over 1000 publications and resources related to child care.  Articles, resources, and links are divided into 28 topic areas.  The Information Station page includes a link to state child care information and contacts for each state.

The Nutrition page includes links to 80 resources covering nutrition issues, breastfeeding and infant nutrition, food-related activities, meals and snacks, food safety, Spanish resources, related links, and distance learning opportunities.

National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI)

The NFSMI Resource Guide provides descriptions of training and nutrition education materials for child care.  Many of the resources may be accessed online and printed.  Mealtime Memo - in both Spanish and English - may be downloaded, printed, and freely distributed.  Other features are newsletters, research studies, educaional opportunities, and related links.

New York State Department of Health

The NYS DOH enforce and monitor the CACFP program.  You can obtain additional information about the program as well as find participating sponsors, centers and day care homes from their web site.
